Milk thistle is a spiky purple flowering plant in the same family as the daisies and ragweed. It’s sold as an herbal supplement, either as a capsule or a tea.

Manufacturers claim it encourages healthy liver function, promotes healthier skin, aids digestive health, boosts your immune system and more. But because it’s an herbal remedy, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) doesn’t regulate it. So, the makers can claim just about anything without needing legitimate research to back it up.

Milk thistle has been used in herbal medicine for centuries for a variety of conditions. But scientific research on milk thistle is limited. Studies on it haven’t been well verified and some have used some questionable methods or very small sample sizes. And few have tested the effects of milk thistle in people, instead showing results in animal models or test tubes.

But, Czerwony says, what we do know has pointed to milk thistle as having good potential to have some positive effects across your body.

Milk thistle extracts have been extensively studied and show no toxic effects in animal or human studies. Because silymarin increases bile flow, humans may produce a looser stool. 

One study found that when patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease took milk thistle powder for eight weeks, they showed a major improvement in ultrasound fatty liver grading and liver enzymes, which are two key health indicators for fatty liver disease. Another showed that when patients used milk thistle in their treatment for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, they saw a decline in GGT enzyme activity, which is connected to liver damage.

The Buyer shall inspect the goods forthwith upon delivery and shall within five days
of delivery notify the Seller in writing of any matter or reason whereof the buyer alleges
that the goods are not following the contract.

The return of any goods will not be accepted unless the Seller or its
authorised representative shall first have had the opportunity to
consider the Buyer’s reasons for returning the goods and to accept the
return thereof. If the Buyer shall fail to give notice as aforesaid the
goods shall be deemed to be in all respects following the contract and
the Buyer shall be deemed to have accepted the goods. An Authorisation
Reference Number will be given to enable the Buyer to return the goods.
NO goods will be accepted without a Reference Number.

Damaged goods claims will be processed within 5 working days of notification,
as will shortfalls in the order.

If the Buyer mistakenly ordered the wrong product, the Seller will
refund the cost of the goods (less the initial delivery charge) when
they are received back by the Seller in a re-saleable condition. The
cost of return shall be paid by the Buyer and will not be refunded.

All goods that are being returned must be re-packed to the same
standard of protection as when the Buyer received them. Returned goods
that are damaged in transit due to poor packaging will NOT be refunded
and will be returned to the Buyer.

All returns must be sent back to the Seller by registered post or by
other means that require a signature of receipt of the goods at the
seller’s warehouse or reception.

The guarantee covers any manufacturer defects and covers any repairs,
or replacements if deemed to be faulty or beyond repair. If the product
has been damaged in any way by the customer we reserve the right to
refuse a refund or return. E-Liquids will only be accepted for return if
they are in a re-saleable condition, unopened and the tamper-proof
protection remains intact. Returns due to incompatibility. Goods that
appear not to work with particular hardware are often labelled as being
faulty. However, this is not usually the case. If the items show to be
faulty after the Seller has tested the products, the Buyer shall then be
refunded for the return postal charge + the goods cost at the time of
purchase. However, if the items returned are only incompatible, the
Seller cannot refund the postage cost. As the items are not faulty, the
Seller cannot accept responsibility for this. It is, therefore, the
Buyer’s responsibility to check any compatibility information available
before purchase.
